What's up Pincer? A blog entry for november.

Hey everyone! it's me again. . . yup Laia (Pablo and Juanma don't seem to like to write on blogs. . . and stuff)

As usuall I must warn you. . . bad english !

So it's November, and Fighters of Fate is taking shape with the new style.

Here's are some samples of the art from Lumaga implemented in the game.

The asyncronous and syncronous mode is working, and Pablo's been working hard on de game user interface.

Lumaga is working on the frames of the cards and also the artwork for the cards.

So we'll be ready soon to make a softlaunch to test the server and let players experiment the mechanics of the game.

Since in Uruguay there will be a big event for gamedev ( Gamelab Montevideo ) on december 8, our plans are to have a playable version with menus and the character maker by then.

We would love you to be part of our friends and test and see more news. Please write me to contact@pincergames.com and I'll personally add you : )

Thank you for reading and we wait for you in our:

We are getting all Otaku suddenly!

(As usual. . . you're warned. . . BAD ENGLISH AHEAD!! )

Heeeey it's me LAIA!  . . . What's up? It's an awful rainny day outside, and I feel like writting (and eating chocolate. . . but nevermind)

So Fighters of Fate have suffered some serious mutations. . . Here's the explanatory GIF.

And now, our characters will look like this:

But why guys? why would you spend time making 3 completely different styles?

Well, there's a story behind it.

The first characters where made by our game designer, and he felt the game needed better graphics since he's not an illustrator, and when we won the national video game contest our visit for GDC was right around the corner, and we needed something to stand out as we showed the game.

So the second graphics where made by the amazing artist Zalozabal , it was a real pleasure to work with him, his style is really unique and we felt that was something cool to add to the game.
But the problem we had was that since the characters are fully customizable (and we couldn't use frame by frame animation) the stylish tall characters suffered a lot, and the animations didn't look too good, on the other hand the original plan we wanted was to approach a super anime look. (We're quite Otaku. . . not ashamed of it at all : p )

So that's why the 3rd style is here by the super cute and amazing artist Lumaga! ( she's really awesome check it out! http://lumaga.tumblr.com/ )

We hope you like it, and we'll bring videos of the fully customizable avatars soon!

Stay tunned. . . Laia out!

Pincer begins!

Hello there!  my name is Laia, and along with Juanma and Pablo we are PINCER GAME STUDIO

How did it start?

Pincer Game Studio
Juanma and Pablo developing on the living room

Well in the begining Juanma and Pablo started to make a game on their spare time, the project started to grow more and more and they thought about the possibility of presenting it to the Uruguayan Video Game National Contest.

Meanwhile, the business incubator Ingenio made a call just for video games studios and then we started to meet other people from the VG industry. After the selection process we finally got selected to enter Ingenio.

Rodrigo from Ballpit Monster and Alvaro from Kef Sensei trying our game for the first time (we where really nervous! )

It all passed to fast! The deadline of the National VG contest finally arrived.

We focused on preparations of our company with Ingenio, and finally we went to the Ceremony day of the contest.  Only to find out that: WE GOT THE FIRST PRIZE!!!
